Staying Motivated

unspecified-1

How to stay motivated.

If you are a new start up, or have been running a business or working at the same company for many years, lots of business owners and busy professional people, find it difficult to stay motivated day after day.

Here are a few tips, you can try to help keep positive and motivated!

  1. Goals

Always set yourself goals. You’ll feel more positive when you have hit these goals and know you have achieved something. This will help keep you motivated to carry on to your next goal/s. Visualizing a goal can really help too.

  1. Why

Make a list of WHY you want to achieve these goals. Why do they matter to you and your business? Use old old pen & paper. Studies show that when we write by hand and connect the letters manually, we engage the brain more actively in the process.

  1. Plan

Have a plan or strategy, but always remember that the best of intentions can also change, so be prepared for changes along the way.  I love these quotes from Thomas Edison.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.”

“The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

  1. Help

Get the help you need. Using a Virtual Assistant could be just what you need. We all try to do too much, and this can be extremely un-motivating. In the way we would hire a plumber for a broken washing machine, small business owners can hire a freelance VA to help with tasks that they need help with. These can be tasks they can’t do, don’t enjoy or just don’t have time to do.

  1. Commitment

If we don’t stay truly committed, our results won’t be as great as we’d like and we won’t feel very motivated to continue. Make the decision to try your best at everything – not only will your results be fantastic, but you’ll feel amazing too!

  1. Strengths

The fact remains we can’t be good at absolutely everything, so keep reminding yourself of your strengths. Never underestimate your strengths, never overestimate your weakness. When you know you need help- outsource those weaknesses.

7.Identify

Identify your greatest sources of inspiration and motivation.  What or who inspires you? This could be simply taking a walk, visiting a museum, spending time with friends, speaking to your mentor or coach. Whatever it is, try to make time each week for the things make you smile.

8. Comfort Zone

Push your comfort zone. It’s actually not motivating to stay in our comfort zone. Do you remember the feeling you get when you actually push yourself out of the place that is comforting and familiar? This doesn’t have to be just in work, this can be in your personal life too, and the buzz you get from this can make you feel very motivated in all aspects of your life.

9. Feed

Feed from other people around you that inspire or motivate you. Listen to a motivated speaker or read an inspiring great book. You can listen to loads on YouTube for free that can set you up for a great motivated day!

These are just a few of the ways you can help stay and become more motivated in your place of work, or for your small business.  There are plenty of other tips too. What helps you stay motivated? Is there something you do daily to help you stay inspired? Do you have a favourite speaker?
